Healthcare

As a physician, Jarod sees firsthand how Florida’s healthcare system is failing hardworking families. Too many Floridians are uninsured, underinsured, or delaying care because they simply cannot afford it. Every day, Jarod treats patients who are forced to choose between picking up their medication and keeping the lights on. These impossible choices lead to worse health outcomes and higher costs for each and every one of us.

Florida must move to expand Medicaid and serve the more than one million Floridians who fall into the coverage gap. Jarod will fight for practical solutions that improve access to care, strengthen Florida’s healthcare workforce, and make healthcare more affordable for working families.

Education

Florida’s future depends on strong public schools. As the parent of three children in Florida public schools, Jarod understands how important public education is to families and communities. While schools struggle with teacher shortages, rising costs, and overcrowded classrooms, politicians in Tallahassee have focused on culture wars and political distractions instead of helping students succeed.

Jarod believes every child deserves access to a high-quality public education, regardless of their ZIP code. He will fight to strengthen public school funding, support teachers and staff, expand workforce and career education opportunities, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly. Florida must invest in students and educators, not undermine the neighborhood schools that serve the vast majority of our children.

Economic Opportunity

Florida’s economic success depends on the people who keep our communities running. Teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, skilled trades professionals, and small business owners are the backbone of our economy.

Jarod knows that Florida must do more to attract and retain talented workers. He supports increased investment in workforce development, expanded career and technical education programs, and competitive wages across all sectors. Small businesses are the heart of Florida’s local economy and should be able to grow and succeed without unnecessary barriers, which is why Jarod will work to streamline red tape for business owners. By investing in people, supporting local businesses, and creating pathways to good-paying jobs, Florida can build a stronger economy that works for everyone.

Local Control

The people closest to a problem are often best equipped to solve it. Florida is incredibly large and beautifully diverse — what may work in Winter Garden isn’t the same as downtown Ocoee. Jarod will return decision-making authority to the local leaders, educators, and residents who know their neighborhoods best.

Over 35 years of Republican control, Tallahassee has taken power away from local governments and imposed one-size-fits-all solutions on issues ranging from education to growth management. Jarod will fight to protect local decision-making, restore home rule, and ensure communities have the flexibility to address their own challenges and priorities.

Environment

Protecting Florida’s environment is essential to protecting our economy, public health, and quality of life. Florida’s natural resources drive our economy and define our way of life. Jarod supports responsible growth that balances the need for a healthy natural environment, while ensuring communities have the infrastructure and resources needed to thrive.

He will protect Florida’s water resources, invest in resilient infrastructure, and support policies that preserve the natural spaces that make Florida a great place to work and play.
